Oculus Quest 3 And PSVR 2 Rumored On Track For 2022

Supply chain analysts are reporting that Taiwanese lens manufacturer, Yujingguang has started working on orders for PSVR 2 and Quest 3 (or "pro" depending on what Oculus goes with)

Based on order quantities, Analysts believe we are looking at these headsets launching in the second half of 2022. So there's lots of life yet in our Quest 2 headsets!

Famous supply chain analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo reported that he believes the new lenses that will be used in these future systems considerably more expensive to produce when compared to today's current VR lenses.

Which is a strong indicator that we'll be seeing a much higher field of view and clarity out of these future headsets! Something always welcome and worth paying a little more for.

If Kuo's reports turn out true, we can expect the PSVR 2 to not only have higher quality lenses, yet also now feature 4 cameras built into the headset confirming inside-out tracking has finally arrived!

Eliminating the need for external cameras to be set up!

One last interesting little morsel we got out of this report was that Kue expects to see 8 to 9 million Quest 2 units shipped in 2021 while production is being ramped up to 18 to 20 million units for 2022.

With numbers like that it's pretty safe to say 2022 is going to be an exciting year for VR!!
